Tue, Jun 3 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM
Online
Topic: Business Basics

Description: The webinar provides business owners with the essential information and guidance to complete their online Beneficial Ownership Information (BOI) Report. Congress passed the Corporate Transparency Act in 2021 to fight illegal finance. Starting January 1, 2024, this law requires companies in the U.S. to report owner and control information to FinCEN, part of the Treasury Department.

As of March 6, 2025, FinCEN announced that it will not issue any fines or penalties or take any other enforcement actions against any companies based on any failure to file or update beneficial ownership information (BOI) reports pursuant to the Corporate Transparency Act by the current deadlines. No fines or penalties will be issued, and no enforcement actions will be taken, until a forthcoming interim final rule becomes effective and the new relevant due dates in the interim final rule have passed.

Despite legal challenges, the reinstated deadline for filing the BOI Report is March 21st, 2025. Businesses that were registered before January 1st, 2024 are subject to this deadline. All businesses registered after January 1st, 2024 must file their BOI Report within 30 days of company registration.

Topics to be covered: • Introduction & Reporting Requirements of Beneficial Ownership Information (BOI) Report • Who Needs to File the BOIR • What is Needed to File the BOIR • When to File the BOIR • Where to Report the BOIR • Updates or Changes to the BOIR • Exploring the BOIR/FinCEN Site • How to File a BOI Report (video) • Tips for Successful BOIR Filings

Note: All attendees will be emailed a copy of the BOIR/FinCEN step-by-step guide.
