Embark on an entrepreneurial journey with our on-demand and live virtual training courses, with professional consulting support, an extensive feasibility guide and live workshop support.

The New Jersey Small Business Development Center (NJSBDC) network is partnering with Fairleigh Dickinson University to provide this no-cost business training course to veterans, service members and their families. From pre-venture to opening the doors, this course will give you all the necessary tools to launch your business from experts in their fields.

Mission: Startup is the program to take you from business idea to launch! Modules 1-3 are ideal for students potentially seeking entrepreneurship as a new path, generating business ideas and testing feasibility.


Course Details:

Module 1 - "Intro to Entrepreneurship"
On-demand module with workbook, estimated 2-3 hours of video and homework

  • What is entrepreneurship?
  • Cultivated an entrepreneurial mindset
  • Assess and improve your entrepreneurial abilities
  • Understand your personality, managerial and leadership traits
  • Visualizing leadership skills

Intended Student: People interested in becoming entrepreneurs

Module 2 - "Idea Generation"
On-demand module with workbook, estimated 2-3 hours of video and homework

  • Think critically and creatively about your interests to determine potential business ideas
  • Finding opportunities and options of entry
  • Develop an idea that has high business potential and draws from your passions

Intended Student: People looking for their business idea

Module 3 - "Feasibility"
On-demand module with workbook, estimated 10-15 hours of video and homework
