As a prerequisite for this course, please first take the 15-hour "QuickBooks and Accounting Fundamentals" course offered in this series. If your accounting knowledge and QuickBooks experience is substantial enough for you to forgo the prerequisite course, please understand that the basics of accounting, QuickBooks setup and QuickBooks bookkeeping will not be discussed in this higher level class. Costing topics will be addressed: = Understanding items, which are the core of job cost tracking = Guidelines for getting job cost information from QuickBooks = Setting up items for accurate job costing = Tracking committed costs = Using the job costing center The course goes on to instruct estimating jobs, memorizing estimates, progress invoicing, methods to enter and automate change orders, and using billing rate levels. The course will conclude with reports for job costing: = Gross Margin = Estimate vs. Actual = Job Cost by Vendor = Time Tracking
