Topic: Managing a Business

Workshop Description:

Small business owners sign contracts every day, yet many do so without fully understanding the terms or the potential consequences. This interactive workshop will help entrepreneurs interpret contract language so they can protect their business interests, prevent disputes, and reduce the risk of litigation.

Participants will:

  • Learn what common contract really clauses mean in plain language
  • Spot red flags, missing terms, and one-sided provisions
  • Understand what makes a contract enforceable
  • Recognize how clear agreements help avoid breaches and misunderstandings
  • Apply practical tools and checklists to review contracts with confidence

A key feature of the workshop will be a hands-on group activity in which participants review and analyze a sample contract. Working in small groups, they will identify missing or unclear terms and discuss best practices for strengthening their own agreements.

Through real-world examples and guided discussion, attendees will leave better prepared to negotiate, safeguard their assets, get paid on time, and avoid unnecessary litigation.
